Thayne Rich, our White Room in house ski builder and newest global team member, shaped his signature ski, the INTHAYNE, to function as the perfect tool for his style of skiing; a freestyle ski that shines in deep snow. The INTHAYNE is the first of its kind with a wide platform to float through the powder and a turned up tail to allow for confident switch pow landings. It's a full rockered ski with ReflectTech™, so the ski will still carve well on firmer snow and also butter with the best of em. If your style is born in the park but you're hungry to take those tricks you've learned to the backcountry, the INTHAYNE is your ticket to a pow-filled fun land.
We sat down with Thayne once production commenced to learn more about this project:
The reason for building the InThayne was because I loved the devastator but always wanted something a bit bigger for the deep days and bigger lines. I really liked how the Renegade skied but it didn’t quite fit my style of skiing because I really like to land backwards. So I mashed the idea of these two skis and that’s how I came up with my ski. We released my ski in the summer because last season I was real busy traveling and filming so I wasn’t able to be around for the development side of how exactly I wanted my ski to ride. After riding the prototypes that I built at the beginning of the season it was obvious that this had to be added to the line so Matt (Sterbenz) helped me get the necessary press parts to bring this ski to life.
It comes in a 186 for now because we are only doing limited runs. We are going to see how much traction and need there is for the one size and go from there. I am thinking of making a few changes for the season to come and we will reevaluate after that.
Its fully Rockered with a long slow rising tip with quite a bit of taper. The tail is much shorter and skinnier for a larger landing zone and easy maneuverability in deep snow. I have come to really enjoy fully rockered skis because they edge just fine, especially in powder, but yet make it easy to swivel quickly and shut speed down when needed. The flex is pretty consistent through the entire ski except for the tail. I wanted a stiff tail to be able to stomp with ease and be able to count on the ski holding up through any type of conditions.
I love being a ski builder down here at 4FRNT as it adds an entire new connection to the sport of skiing and with the customers that ride our product. It is awesome to talk to people that ski the skis that I built and get feedback from them. It’s crazy to travel to so many different places and see our skis being ridden by the people that enjoy good quality products and believe in supporting a true core brand. It’s also really fun to be pushing the progression of skiing through product design and prototyping. We are always trying to create the most enjoyment for skiers around the globe and from many different backgrounds; weather you like to get after it in the backcountry or just like cruising the resort, 4FRNT has something to offer for everyone.
I am 25 years old and I’m 6’1”. I grew up in Salt Lake City, UT; which has provided an epic upbringing for me. Being so close to the mountains has given me the opportunity to get into the mountains often and push my skiing ability.
Limited to 25 pairs, each hand built, signed and numbered by Thayne himself.

Pillow mashing, cliff stomping, high alpine touring, steep fall line skiing, tricks off cliffs, off cornices, off rollers, nose butters to smearing spines, Kye Petersen proved to us the potential of his signature KYE 120 shape as witnessed in his self project, “In Search.” For two years, Kye and our White Room crew tweaked this wide body shape into position. Designed with a catch free edge-less tip and lengthy rocker tip and tail, this ski has no limits in the powder. New for 2017 is an updated core resulting in a weight reduction of 15% for those long approaches to the goods.

Just like its counterpart, the HOJI, the now lighter HOJI W loves going on long tours, but also loves the steeps and will keep you smiling when you end up on a groomer. This ski can truly take you anywhere you want to go, due to our combination of ReflectTech™ and VibeVeil.

Need a ski that’s lightweight and incredibly stable? Well how about a ski that’s also playful, but can be as aggressive as you need them to be? Welcome to the Hoji, now 15% lighter than years past thanks to our all-new Pop Core, which is a combination of lightweight poplar and paulownia woods. The Hoji is the perfect ski to travel deep into the backcountry without tiring you out, but also be stable and aggressive enough to handle even the steepest of steeps. The Hoji’s full rocker shape will also give you the float in powder that you’d normally expect from a much wider ski. While the VibeVeil™ and ReflectTech™ give the ski the stability to give you all the confidence you need to plow through variable conditions like a pro.

The now 15% lighter KYE 110 is most commonly used by Big Mountain skiers, Patrollers and Mountain Guides. Kye Petersen shaped this model to be his big mountain ski, however once you get a couple laps on it, you realize this may very well become your everyday ski of choice. The tapered and rockered tip accommodates ease of control in powder yet the GS style turn radius provides stability and a trusty no-hook feel for hard charging through the crud.

Wiley Miller shaped his signature ski to function as a park ski for powder. The YLE was a first of its kind with equal width tip and tails to provide a near centered feel for skiing switch in the backcountry. We rockered the tip and tails and left a bit of camber underfoot so the ski still tracked well when hitting firm take-off’s and landings. If your style is born in the park but looking for softer and more natural features to work on your nose butters, then look no further than the YLE.View full product details
A ski so stable and maneuverable, you'll swear it must be cheating as you can "just point 'em" on even the choppiest of days. The ReflectTech™ give you the "pivotable" benefit of a full-rockered ski, while providing a classic, full length effective edge for superior edge-hold. The Devastator is a true One-Ski-Quiver. For women check out the Aretha, same shape just with our ContourCore™.View full product details
Ride 'em Cowboy! The Gaucho is our shape for the all mountain resort skier. Be it you ski on the ice coast, the flat lands of the Midwest or the deep, steep and wet Northwest, there is no condition too rough and tough for the Gaucho. We shaped the Gaucho with a minimally tapered and rockered twin tip design, supported by a sub 20m turn radius for quick and playful turns down fall line. When the conditions get icy, the Titanal metal construction provides unreal edge hold, so that even the firmest days are the best days. Giddy up.
We made a limited edition red colorway of the Gaucho that can only be found on 4FRNT.com.View full product details
Somebody wise once said, “It doesn’t have to be fun to be fun.” We aren’t saying that you won’t have the best turns of your life on the HOJI. The ReflectTech™ takes care of that. To us, however, this ski represents pain and gain; frigid, early mornings, half-listening to NPR on the way to a dawn patrol tour before work, sharing the same thermos of whatever hot beverage somebody brought. This ski represents sweaty skin tracks and windy ridges. Wherever you go the HOJI will get you to the bottom confidently and in the best style.

If you're looking to "murder" the local park scene and you're a park skier who wants a ski that can be powerful, playful and poppy all at the same time, look no further than the Switchblade. The traditional camber profile and stable wood core give you the confidence to step up to the biggest of booters. The sidewall construction and sintered base separate this ski from the CLICK!, giving you stronger edge hold and faster in runs. This is the go to park ski for the majority of our team. Kill it on the Switchblade!View full product details
Full wood core and full cap construction make the Click! a great ski for anyone who likes jibbing the most unique features. Lightweight but sturdy, the Click! handles a wide variety of transitions and obstacles well. Softer than the Switchblade, the Click! likes to be thrown around and butters any lip easily.View full product details
Kye Petersen narrowed the waistline on this model but didn’t take away any of its ability to outperform its wider counterparts. The extended taper and rocker tip shape float in the widest variety of snow conditions while keeping the skier forward on the tips. With the lowest tail height in its class, the 95’s extended running surface and shorter turn radius make this the “best in class” for the KYE Series in firm to variable conditions. When looking for a lightweight solution to an everyday all mountain or touring ski, the KYE95 is your shape.

Mogul Skiing, noun:
1. A skiing event in which skiers descend a slope which is covered in mounds of snow, making two jumps during the descent.
For years we’ve skirted the question, “...but how does it ski the bumps?” Knowing all along with mogul skiing in our DNA that whatever ski it was they were contemplating had nothing to do with ripping up a zipper line. 4FRNT is a brand which stands tall in authenticity therefore we simply could not carry on any further without listening to our inner Hot Dog. I welcome you to the Originator - a thoroughbred Mogul Ski for having fun and not giving a damn.View full product details
For skiers who find themselves ordering an extra side of butter with their park skiing, the Vandal will give you all the high cholesterol, artery clogging goodness you’ve grown to love. The early rise in the tip and tail will not only help make your life easier when you’re cruising through some trees, but it’ll also make it that much easier to get up on your tips to help you lock in your nose butters.View full product details

Tough enough for riders like Cam Riley to jump off a four story parking garage, but playful enough for him to throw a buttery 270 on when he gets back up for his next hit. The Switchblade is our true ‘Jack of all Trades’ for park riders that need their ski to be both poppy and aggressive and also be buttery and playful on demand. This ski is great for riders who want a classic feeling carver that’s playful enough to send through the park.View full product details
We don’t think that women’s skis should be noodily dumbed-down versions of a men’s ski. The HOJI W illustrates this belief by delivering a powerful women’s ski that handles big lines efficiently, just like the women who rip them. The ReflectTech™ and VibeVeil™ produce a ride that’ll make you think twice about fully rockered skis. In fact, we don’t think you’ll ever look back. The ContourCore™ puts you over the sweet spot which inspires confidence and stronger turn initiation. To those ladies looking to charge hard, look no further than the Hoji W.

We would've felt optimistic, to say the least, properly forecasting the demand for the HOJI. Based on that demand, we created the HOJI W.
We found that women were purchasing and loving the HOJI in a 179 cm length and we couldn't keep it in stock. We designed the HOJI W specifically for women with a more forgiving flex for lighter frames, and contour core to match the natural geometry of a woman's center of gravity and added a 171 cm size to round out the series.
Plenty of ladies these days ski big mountain terrain and now they have a legitimate ski choice. But don't take our word for it, hear it straight from two fem rippers; She Jumps founder, Claire Smallwood here or from Blister ski reviewer Julie Van Raalte here.
Available size is the 187 cm.
Even though the Wise ski isn't for everyone, it fills a high performance half-pipe niche that no other company on the market has ever even dabbled in. The full maple wood core make this ski quite stiff with a ton of camber. We hand build these in limited runs out of our White Room facility in Salt Lake City, UT. Olympic Gold Medalist and X Games champion, David Wise designed this ski to launch him 20 feet out of the pipe. That's enough air to land back to back dubs. The production model is identical to the ones you see Dave with on T.V. So, if you demand one of the best pipe skis on the market and aren't afraid to boost and stomp hits and rail groomers, the Wise is your ski.

The all new Uptrack collection is the culmination of our personal ski touring experiences, paired with selling skins to backcountry skiers for over 5 years. The Uptrack's will become your most relied upon and trusted piece of backcountry equipment you own.
Offered in 185cm length, our skis can easily accommodate any ski up to 196cm. We cut them in 4 widths: 100, 110, 120, and 140mm. All skins come equipped with a trip tool, however skiers looking to pair their skis and skins, we encourage users to pair the untrimmed: 100 with the Raven, 110 for the Hoji, and the 120 for the Renegade. This was the purpose of Hoji's shapes to be all +2mm wider then standard skin width. Leaving skins un-trimmed greatly reduces the unnecessary wear caused from storing them in your pack and bibs when folding the trimmed edges onto each other. For those seeking to custom fit your ski, measure the widest point in your tip and trim away.
Skins come complete with a OSFA low profile tip fastener, Self Tensioning Strap (STS) tail clip system, trim tool, carry bag and cheat sheets for proper storage and ease of use.
Note: The Uptrack has a mohair mix plush and hotmelt adhesive backing with a taffeta strip down the center (which is removable) to reduce excess adhesion to make separating the skins easier if so desired. We import the sublimated plush from Europe and the skins are produced right here in SLC in cooperation with Black Diamond. The Uptrack is the successor to the EVO skin which has been discontinued and was produced in cooperation with High Trails of Switzerland.View full product details
Want to take a holiday from the resorts? Grab one of our 'Holiday' touring poles before you head into the back country to help make your time going up hill a little easier. The adjustable length allows you to set it at your preferred length for going up hill, then adjust it to whatever length you like for skiing once you're at the top.
The Snowdance looks as good as it handles, the everyday usability and variety of sizes adds to its appeal. Plus, the composite construction allows the pole to bend further, increasing durability.
Specs & Features Include:
Here at 4FRNT we're all about innovation and this year we think we've came up with something more creative than anything else we've done in the past. We started with an aluminum shaft that tapers to a point, then added an ergonomic grip and a strap to go around your wrist to make for a comfortable, safe grasp. We then added plastic 'discs' that are meant to stop the pointy end of the pole from going too deep into the snow. All this combines to make a multi-faceted tool that you can use to push yourself across flat surfaces, stab into the snow to help yourself initiate a turn, or have sword fights with your friends. Add our flashy custom artwork and you've got yourself the coolest pointy sticks on the hill.
The Sundace is our go to composite pole. You'll pole plant all day and not get tired, so you can still lift a can to your lips in the parking lot around dusk. Plus, the composite construction allows the pole to bend further, increasing durability.
Specs & Features Include:
Hit the big jumps like Joey with the 3 Kings park pole. What's that? Your poles don’t touch the snow when you’re skiing? Perfect. That’s why we made ‘em down to a 90 cm.
Escape the gaper steeze with the Evader park pole.
Poles don't reach the ground when you're skiing? Perfect.
That's why we made 'em in 90-135 cm sizes. We know what you want.View full product details
