This Limited Edition Raven features our new ground-breaking 4-LOCK skin system, which includes a pair of custom pre-cut Pomoca Free Pro 2.0 skins.Conceived in the backcountry by Eric ‘Hoji’Hjorleifson, this is a first of its kind collaboration between 4FRNT x Pomoca x Hoji to create the lightest, most reliable, and easiest to use ski and skin system to date!

Our new 4-LOCK™ system consists of an inconspicuous 12x9mm hole through the tail of the ski that we refer to as the Hoji Hole™, named after Eric. By inserting the self-locking skin strap through this hole, the skin becomes locked to the ski, eliminating frustrating gear failure forever.

After years of testing, Eric found that by placing the hole in the rocker zone20cm’s from the tail, he could reduce his skin length by up to12% to improve uphill efficiency without affecting the skis downhill performance. This reduced skin length weighs in at less than240g per skin and folds up impossibly compact, saving you more weight on your feet and more space in your pack than any other set up on the market.

BLEMISH SKI DETAILS
These 2019/20 season skis are brand new with a subtle cosmetic defect in the graphic for example a small part of the top or base graphic is slightly off center. These cosmetic blemishes have no effect on the ski's performance or durability. We CAN NOT inform you of what the specific blemish is on a particular ski, but most of the time you won't even be able to find it.

The Stash is the only place you will ever find our skis sold at discounted prices due to irregularities in the graphic, being out of it's original packaging or slightly used. No Ragraets Bro

The hype is all the way real with these skis. They are nimble, hard charging, stable and very versatile. Doesn't matter where you are, they will ride predictably through almost any snow condition. They float exceptionally well for their width in deep freshies, they rail through chunder, and they'll even arc a nice carve on hardpack. My usage of them has been mostly touring oriented, and they strike an excellent balance between saving weight for the way up while maintaining enough mass to be rad on the way down. The biggest difference I have found between these and more traditional ski shapes is that the turn initiates from directly underfoot, as opposed to driving the tips. Ride them and you will instantly understand that Hoj-boss' style is linked to his ski design preferences like the yin and the yang.

New favorite skis.

The Raven TourLock are honestly just a perfect ski in every way. They're so much lighter than my last touring setup and yet they feel solid on the downhill and have just the right amount of float in the powder. They also feel great just touring around on the flats or zipping up the hill for some quick turns. It is still early in the season but so far I am blown away with these skis and would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone. The Hoji hole is pretty cool too and having less skin has been noticeably better in terms of weight and I still feel like I have plenty of grip going up steep hills. The Pomoca skins are top of the line and it shows. Great job 4FRNT and thank you Hoji for a truly wonderful setup.

TOURLOCK

The raven is a truly refined tool, with the addition of tourlock it could not be better. I was lucky enough to be a part of the testing group for it last season and can happily say I will not be attaching my skins differently again. They are noticeably lighter, more packable and because it’s closer to the boot there is less snow and ice to get packed around so it’s even easier to take off. Also as it was the only thing that changed from my previous season I can safely say the grip is just as much there as it’s always been. Big ups to Hoji, things rip

Incredibly Versatile

Having skied the Renegades for several seasons, as well as the Hojis, I was eager to ski the Raven and put the new TourLock system to use. I skied this ski a bunch since last January and like all of Hoji's designed skis I loved the Raven, but I was blown away at how versatile it was. It felt like a narrower Renegade, with a super strong platform underfoot, and handled everything from deep powder, steep chutes in firm snow, wide open and tight terrain with ease. I combined it with a super light binding that had a high release value, and it crushed. In addition to the Raven, the new TourLock system is a simple yet great innovation to ski touring. The design eliminated drag and was really efficient for covering long miles. Most importantly, since there aren't any tail clips you don't click and clank them on steep kick turns. The buckle sits perfectly through the hole in the ski and flicks off with ease when transitioning for the down. I personally loved the smaller profile of the skins in my backpack, and not once did I have an issue with the system, be it cold storm skiing with multiple transitions or spring days that saw a myriad of temperatures. It's pretty slick and Pomoca's skins are the best out there, so it's a perfect match. Bottom line: If you want to go light and fast - yet have a ski that charges, pivots, and can handle variable terrain with ease then look no further. Plus the skins are already cut and ready for shredding.
