You end up meeting your favorite ski partners in the most obscure places. Around 2000, I was volunteering at Camp of Champions as a digger, where I met the young and talented Eric Hjorleifson for the first time. We were living in this dungenous basement apartment in Creekside, a small neighborhood just south of Whistler Village. Eric was fired up like the rest of us to build a name for himself in skiing.
A few years went by and we became great ski partners, feeding off one another every summer and eventually partnering in the creation of 4FRNT. A few years into 4FRNT and Eric created his first shape, the EHP. This kicked off a continuously evolving era for Eric in creating signature shapes like the Raven, Hoji & Renegade. With every ski, his style became more refined and his desire grew to continue developing new ways to ski.
Eric sat down and spoke with Jonathan Ellsworth, founder of Blister, on the Blister Podcast. To hear the whole in depth story from Eric himself, I hope you give it a listen.
Ski ya,
