Frequently Asked Questions
-
The right ski size for you will ultimately depend on your personal preference and experience. If you like your current ski size, order a similar size from 4FRNT. If you do not like your current ski size, you need to consider what performance differences you want. Typically longer skis handle more powder and will be more stable, but require advanced skills to control. Shorter skis are more forgiving, easier to maneuver and lighter.

- The two most important factors to consider when choosing the right bindings are the DIN Range and the Brake Width.
- The DIN (# at end of binding name) of the binding refers to how easily a binding will release. Those above 165lbs, or very strong skiers, should choose a 13-15 DIN. Beginner skiers and skiers below 165lbs should choose an 11-12 DIN binding. 16-18 DIN bindings are meant for high-level professional skiers.
- Brake width should be relatively close to the waistwidth of the ski. For all of our skis, we recommend being within -5mm and +10mm from the waistwidth. For example, if you are skiing the MSP 99 with a 99mm waist, you should choose a brake between 95mm and 110mm. With 100mm being the best fit.
- For downhill alpine skiing, we recommend checking out Tyrolia Attack and Look Pivot bindings.
- For touring in the backcountry, we recommend checking out the Dynafit Rotation and ATK Freeraider bindings.
- Your brake width should be as close to the ski’s waistwidth as possible. We suggest choosing a brake between -5mm and +5mm from the waistwidth of the ski.
- You can find our full selection of bindings here.
-
We're not legally able to mount bindings on skis. As such, we recommend bringing your skis, bindings and boots to your local ski shop and they will take care of it for you. All shops are capable of mounting any of our skis.
-
Each 4FRNT ski model has a recommended mount point that is marked by a sticker and a raised dot on the topsheet of the ski. If you scroll down to the "specs" section on any ski product page you can find the recommended mount point for that particular ski under "Boot from tail."
-
Drill bit size info can be found on the square sticker located on the ski’s topsheet indicating mount point as well.
Use drill bit size 3.5mm x 9.5mm to drill all 4FRNT skis.
