I bought these in spring, and only have one tour on them - so won’t comment on the skiing (yet), but wanted to note the pre-owned aspect. I wasn’t so sure buying pre-owned so:
- the skis are in great shape. They definitely had been skied, but not hard. A few scratches on the top sheet, but no dings or anything serious. The original price sticker goop was still on the ski tip.
- importantly the bases and edges are 100%. Not sure if they happened to be tuned prior to shipping, but they might as well have been. In great shape.
- same for the 4-lock skins. If I had to guess I’d say they’d been opened and put on, but never used (or maybe used on a short day or two). The glue surface and the plush look brand new.
- there were holes drilled from the previous binding, but that was expected. I did have to move my new bindings slightly from a normal mount, but it was subtle. So depending on the binding choice, this could be an issue, but it’s just one set of holes and is-what-it-is. I’d recommend buying bindings with the skis in hand so the shop (or you) can see if the holes will cause issues, and if so, move things around, and/or fill the holes well, or worst case, opt for another binding.
Overall pre-owned was the right choice for me - amazing price on some great skis, with pretty minor trade-offs.
